The author is a Canadian politician who spent 25 years in public life. He spent two years in the House of Commons as chief of staff to federal New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Ed Broadbent, five terms in the Yukon Legislative Assembly, and ultimately served two terms as the third premier of Yukon from 1985-1992.
